Man Shoots Dead His 2 Wives In Egypt And Flees

A man in Egypt is alleged to have shot dead his two wives and fled their home near Cairo, media reported.

Police in Giza, south of Cairo, were alerted after neighbors heard gunshots inside a house.

The semi-official newspaper Al Ahram reported that when police arrived at the house, they found both women dead with gunshot wounds.

A preliminary investigation revealed that two women, ages 30 and 42, had been shot to death by their husbands, who are contractors, over unspecified family issues, according to the paper.

He had blood on his clothes when he left the house and sped off in his car, according to a neighbour who is a relative of the husband.

Her statement to police disclosed that upon entering the house, one wife was already dead and the other was fighting for her life, but then she passed away.

Two bodies were found in a room of the house, Sada Al Balad reported.

A portal said the suspect married both women about four years ago, with a brief period in between each marriage.

According to the report, he had two children at the time of the murder at their grandfather's home.

Investigators are trying to determine the motive for the crime as they pursue the suspected killer.
