Man Arrested For Accepting Bribe
An Arab national working with the Ministry of Electricity and Water was arrested for accepting bribe in hundreds of thousands of dinars.
The engineer, who works as an advisor, embezzled hundreds of thousands of dinars as bribes from companies which signed agreements with the ministry.
Undersecretary Mohammed Bushehri said that the suspect was caught red-handed as he was receiving bribe.
The Criminal Investigation squads monitored his bank account and found that huge funds were deposited by companies which signed contracts with the ministry.
The police also seized post-dated cheques of huge amounts.
The man was referred to the Public Prosecution for investigation before referring him the criminal court for trial.
Those companies which offered bribe to the engineer will also face legal action.
