Malicious Sites Promoting Fake News
The Electronic Monitoring Department of the State Security Apparatus has spotted many fictitious sites and names which have been recently promoting false news and rumors with the aim of damaging the stability of the country and instill fear in the hearts of Kuwaitis.
However, according to a knowledgeable security source these malicious sites are operated from outside the country.
One of the sites said Kuwait is prone to attack by an unidentified ‘party’. The State Security has stepped up search for the operators of these sites using aliases. It has been reported the concerned authorities have sought the help of the main Twitter site in the US to identify the suspects.
According to the State Security the suspects have the support of some people who are holding the British and Iraqi citizenships.
The suspects are paid money to spread lies, fabricated news reports and malicious rumors.
The Kuwaitis and residents have been assured by the authorities that the military is always vigilant and that the security situation is stable. Kuwait is protected by her sons in the Interior and Defense ministries and are able to thwart any attempts or plans to tamper with the security of the country.
