Likelihood That Partial Curfew May Be Lifted
With the end of Ramadan approaching, everyone is awaiting for the Council of Ministers to pass a decision on the partial curfew, whether to end or extend it, or change its duration after the Corona Emergency Committee presents its recommendations today after monitoring the Coronavirus infection curve and other factors, Al Anba daily reported.
Sources told the daily that there is the likelihood of a decision to end the curfew, given the economic, psychological and social benefits to do so; however, the decision also depends on the number of people registering for the vaccine.
Taking into consideration the proposals from specialists, one of the possible outcomes is to end the curfew for vaccinated people only.
Another condition is the curfew ends for everyone, but entry to restaurants and cafes is restricted to the vaccinated only, even if this is limited to the Eid holidays to prevent gatherings in the interest of public health.
The sources announced that Kuwait Mobile ID App stores the vaccine information, including an update to save the vaccination certificate for Kuwaitis and expatriates beside the Civil ID data, which would allow those who are vaccinated to enjoy a range of facilities.
The Ministry of Health has set a mechanism to implement the decision to link travel with vaccination, which will be presented to the Corona Emergency Committee before being sent to the competent authorities for approval.
The sources expected that the council will also deliberate on the regulations for departures and arrivals, whether they will continue to be enforced or relaxed, and which categories were deferred for vaccination due to illness, age or any other reason to allow them to travel.
