Left Side Emergency Lane Used To Expand Some Highways To Four-lane

17 August 2020 Kuwait

The left side safety lane on some of the highways are annexed to the main lane to make it a fourth lane for traffic based on the Traffic Department’s proposal. The Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport revealed the authority’s commitment during the maintenance and asphalting of highways by annexing the safety lanes on some roads to the main lanes.

This helps to expand the road for highway users by adding a fourth lane in some of the major three-lane highways. This will make the movement of vehicles more smooth, especially during peak traffic hours.

However, the right side safety lane is only for the use of emergency vehicle, and it is prohibited to use the emergency lanes, which are not marked for public traffic use.
