Lawyer Gets 10 Years Jail In Absentia

The Criminal Court recently sentenced a fugitive lawyer to 10 years in prison with hard labor, fined him KD2,005,983 and obligated him to pay the value of the funds associated with the real estate fraud he committed — about KD 2 million.

The court pointed out it was established that the accused desired to get rich quickly by collecting money without caring about the manner by which he collected the amount. He turned himself into the ruler of evil as he was seduced by the demon, so he used his status as the owner of a company to engage in fraudulent acts to get money easily, the court added.
