Law For Demographic Organization Published In Official Gazette
The law No. 74/2020 regarding the organization of demographics has come into effect following its publication in the official gazette “Kuwait Illioum”. It contains six articles that apply to expatriates upon the issuance of executive regulations by the concerned minister within a year from the time of its publication, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The list will include restrictions to set a higher ceiling for expatriates, and to issue annual executive decisions when needed, while providing the National Assembly with annual reports in this regard.
The law calls for taking into account the number of expatriates, from the date of issuance of the relevant decisions, the national plan for comprehensive development, the timeframes included therein, their need for employment, the programs organizing the professional qualifications contained in the plan, and the various policies and plans for the replacement of national manpower.
The law indicates the importance of taking into account the outputs of education, the programs of the Public Authority for Applied
Education and Training, the extent to which means of prevention and treatment of diseases and epidemics are adopted in the country’s health system for expatriates coming from abroad, and to identify the excluded groups in light of development needs and labor market policies.
