Labor Department To Directly Issue Work Permits For Workers

The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) issued an administrative circular which allows labor departments to directly issue work permits for workers contracting with cooperative societies, reports Al-Anba daily.

The circular puts one condition for such issuance of work permits – submission of salary and wages transfer certificate, clarifying that separating investors and cooperative societies is not a must.

Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and State Minister for Economic Affairs Hind Al-Subaih said the Compensation Committee has deposited KD 30,000 to the bank accounts of the owners of damaged cars out of the total amount of the first batch of compensation disbursed last week to the victims of heavy rains, reports Al-Jarida daily.

Speaking to the daily, Al-Subaih confirmed the next batch compensation will be disbursed soon, indicating that priority will be given to the owners of damaged houses and cars. She affirmed the government gives importance to the payment of compensation to those affected by the heavy rains.
