Kuwaiti Youth Shine At Creativity Forum

Kuwaiti youth showcased several projects at Startup Kuwait, an annual innovation competition for university students, which aims to foster creativity.

Mohammad Alwan from the Arab Open University was awarded for his “Habbah” project; Areej Ahmad, Batul Dashti, Lamees Waleed and Sajida Hussain from the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering at Kuwait University won for their “Magniscope” project, and Ali Ashkanani, Salman Al Ahmad, Hassan Fayrouz, Ahmad Al Azmi from the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering at Kuwait University won for their “Playground Drop & Drag” project, and Aisha Al Enezi and Al Ajmi from the same faculty won for their project “AlZaheiGlass”.

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Eisa Al Kandari said Kuwait is pinning high hopes on its youth to represent the country at different regional and international scientific forums.

He lauded Kuwait University’s support to youth who have achieved great success in this creative competition, held for the second year in a row. He expressed his pleasure for seeing the distinguished projects which won the prizes of this year’s edition.

These are a tangible proof of the creativity of Kuwaiti youth and their ability to transform the country and contribute to its comprehensive development, he said.

For his part, Kuwait University President Dr Hussain Al Ansari said Startup Kuwait competition is based on the vision of Emir Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah for turning Kuwait into a financial and commercial hub.

A total of 29 projects competed this year, and they covered various domains such as computer, food and other fields, he said. Al Ansari praised the students who participated in the contest.
