Kuwaiti Woman Ordered To Repay Dowry Amount To Ex-husband

A divorced Kuwaiti woman was ordered to return the dowry amount to her ex-husband, Al Qabas newspaper reported.

The Family Court ruled in favour of the man, obliging the ex-wife to repay KD7,000 he had given her as stipulated in the marriage contract.

The woman had filed a case seeking  divorce before the consummation of the marriage.

The court then issued the verdict in favour of the ex-husband, based on article 65 of the law on personal status 51 of 1984.
