Kuwaiti Wins Third In World Karate Championship

Kuwaiti Dhari Al-Enizi has won the third place in the 85 kilograms Kumite competition at the fourth Kyokushin Karate World Championship held in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan on December 7-8.

Head of the delegation Hassan Al-Kanderi lauded the achievement of the Kuwaiti karateka who won against two rivals from Japan and Sweden before securing third place in the competition featuring fighters from 50 nations, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

Al-Kanderi affirmed that Al-Enizi and fellow fighter Omar Hantash did their best during the course of the tournament, indicating that the future is bright for Kyokushin Karate in Kuwait.

The Kuwaiti delegation also included referee Faisal Al-Othman who was among the staff judging the bouts of the tournament.

Kyokushin Karate is a full-contact form of this martial art founded by Korean-Japanese Oyama Masutatsu in 1964.
