Kuwaiti Police Clampdown On Drug Trafficking

The Kuwaiti authorities have seized a big quantity of drugs as part of a clampdown on narcotics.

The anti-narcotics squads confiscated 11.730 kilos of chemicals, 21.070 of marijuana, 7.928 kilos of methamphetamine,

321.929 kilos of cannabis, 4.949 kilos of heroin, 400 grams of cocaine and 2,042, 208 amphetamine pills.

Interior Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs Major-General Khalid Al-Dayeen said that the drugs had been seized in recent operations targeting smuggling networks.

Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Khalid Al-Jarrah issued directives to step up procedures in combating all types of drug-related crimes.
