Kuwaiti Man Convicted Of Storming National Assembly Arrested

A Kuwaiti fugitive convicted of storming the National Assembly was arrested in Jordan.

Ahmed Farraj Khalifa was caught at Amman international Airport by Jordanian Interpol agents while on his way to London.

Interpol's Kuwait branch had issued a notice for his arrest after he had been sentenced in absentia to seven years in jail.

Jordanian authorities are currently undertaking the legal measures required to extradite him to Kuwait.

The fugitive is the 18th defendant to be convicted for storming the National Assembly in 2011.
