01 October 2016 Kuwait

The Kuwaiti Interpol has sought the help of their counterparts in various countries to arrest and bring to justice 1,750 people who are at large.

These people are believed to have escaped to their home countries or have sought refuge in other countries. The courts in Kuwait have already issued verdicts against some of them while the lawsuits of others are still being looked into.

Of these 350 are Kuwaitis and others are Arabs and foreigners. Twenty percent are women – Kuwaitis and expatriates. Some of these people are wanted in the State Security cases and others for committing serious criminal offences.

These criminals have escaped to countries that have not signed extradition treaties with Kuwait.

Most of these people are believed to be living under disguise in remote mountainous areas and villages.
