Kuwaiti Husband And Wife Detained In Filipino Maid’s Death

An Interior Ministry personnel and his wife who works at Sulaibikhat Police Station have been detained for the death of a Filipino domestic worker whom they allegedly subjected to severe beating, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

A security source said the Kuwaiti male sponsor later tried to save the life of the 26-year old Filipino by rushing her to Sabah Hospital after she had suffered serious injuries at home.

The man claimed he knew nothing about the traces of beating on the deceased’s body when questioned by medical personnel. He was held in custody alongside the wife for questioning before filing lawsuit against them. The source noted the forensic report will determine the cause of death, and the citizen with his wife may be charged with manslaughter if no other reason but beating is determined as the cause of death
