A Kuwaiti youth has been arrested by the Turkish police for allegedly robbing a Syrian last Monday, reports Al-Rai daily citing Turkish media reports. The Kuwaiti is said to have stolen two phones, 600 Euros and 5,000 Turkish liras from the Syrian tourist who was staying in a hotel in the suburb of Taksim.

When the Syrian discovered the theft, he informed the Itimat district police affiliated to the Istanbul Police Department and the subsequent investigations led to the arrest of the Kuwaiti on the same day the complaint was filed. The arrest came after the Syrian pointed a finger of accusation at the Kuwaiti. After the belongings of the Kuwaiti were searched police found the two phones, but there was no sign of money. The Kuwaiti was then taken to the Taksim Police Department and is expected to be referred to the court if he is found guilty.
