Kuwaiti Goods Shipments Change Routes

Shipments of commercial value destined for Kuwait abruptly diverge to other destinations, mainly the United Arab Emirates. According to reliable sources who spoke to a local Arabic daily, one of the shipments being monitored belonged to an agent in Kuwait who is also active in other commercial markets, including the Emirates, and explained that due to the increase in global prices, and these prices being fixed locally, compounded with the strictness of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry officials, he was forced to change routes to markets that are more flexible in terms of prices, and deal according to global standards.

According to the reports, another food shipment veered off course and arrived at an unknown port. On the role of regulatory bodies in this respect, the Ministry of Commerce, for example, sources confirmed that the ministry's staff is concerned with the supervision of any items inside Kuwait, but that the ministry has no authority over shipments that are outside Kuwaiti territory.
