Kuwaiti Fm: Al-durra Gas Field Offshore Is A Kuwaiti-saudi Field

Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah said on Tuesday that the offshore Al-Durra gas field is solely a Kuwaiti-Saudi venture. Iran is not a party in the Al-Durra (gas) field because it is solely a Kuwaiti-Saudi field, according to the minister in a statement. According to previously signed agreements between the two countries, only Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have the right to invest in this field.

The Kuwaiti minister said he meant to allude to "negotiations regarding the continental shelf, namely tripartite negotiations involving Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Iran and designed to demarcate the continental shelf among the three states" during a news conference with his visiting French counterpart.
