27 December 2019 Crime News

The Misdemeanor Court sentenced a Kuwaiti lawyer to one-week imprisonment and ordered her to pay fine of KD 75. The court suspended the execution of the verdict after the defendant signed a pledge of good conduct for a period of three years and paid bail bond of KD 1,000.

The court referred the civil lawsuit to the relevant court. According to the case file, the lawyer was charged with humiliating a security official while on duty at the Justice Palace.

During the court session, Lawyer Zaid Al-Khabbaz proved that the defendant committed the crime in front of witnesses, stating that his client suffered moral harm when the defendant humiliated and offended him in public. He asked the court to obligate the defendant to pay his client compensation due to the damages he sustained.
