15 August 2019 Crime News

Kuwaiti Hani Al-Mousawi was ‘detained’ for six hours in Lome, the capital of the Republic of Togo, and was released only after Sheikh Radwan, brother of the country’s Minister of Economy and cousin of the Togolese Ambassador to Kuwait intervened, reports Al-Rai daily.

Al-Mousawi has posted on his Instagram account what happened to him in the Republic of Togo. He said when he arrived at the passport counter he produced his passport and he was made to wait before being subjected for interrogation following which they told him that he needs a prior invitation to enter the country and put him in prison for six hours.

He was allowed to take his phone with him and this allowed him to contact the outside world. After Al-Radwan intervened he was released and taken to a hotel, courtesy of Sheikh Radwan. He has posted pictures of what happened at the airport, during interrogation and the place of hospitality.
