07 April 2016 Kuwait

The security authorities have arrested a 26-year-old Kuwaiti, identified as Wael Ghali, believed to be a criminal who had been sentenced in absentia to five years imprisonment and also wanted in connection with several other crimes, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Interior.

In a vain attempt to escape, the suspect reportedly crashed into several cars including police vehicles and drove into the basement parking of a commercial complex, which went blaze after the collision of the cars.

A source from the General Department of information and Media Security department of the Interior Ministry said a police patrol on routine duty in the area, suspected the vehicle last Tuesday and ordered the motorist to stop.

However, the man ignored, crashed into the police vehicle and tried to run over the police. He then collided with several other cars which were parked on the road and drove into the basement. Upon impact several cars caught fire. A backup police patrol rushed to the place and arrested the citizen.
