Kuwaiti Civil Groups Gathered As A Sign Of Solidarity With The Palestinian People
Kuwaiti civil groups Sunday gathered in front of the Palestinian Embassy in Kuwait as a sign of solidarity with the Palestinian people and Al-Quds.
During a rally at the embassy, hundreds of representatives of Kuwaiti civil organizations, citizens and residents voiced total support to Palestine, and emphatically deplored Israeli violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Furthermore, Kuwaiti political activists and academicians vehemently denounced Israel’s nonstop desecration of Palestinian holy sites, primarily Al-Aqsa Mosque.
At a gathering organized to show solidarity with Palestinian people, they highly commended the position expressed by Kuwait’s political leadership, namely His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, against the continuing Israeli violations of Palestinian sanctuaries.
The irate protesters called on Arab countries which have diplomatic and economic relations with Israel to sever them immediately and to abolish peace treaties with It.
Last week, Israel shut down A-Aqsa Mosque, denying Palestinian worshipers access to the holy site, in the aftermath of clashes that erupted between three Palestinians and two Israelis, which resulted in killing all five.
Al-Aqsa Mosque had been closed in front of worshipers for the first time in 48 years.
It is incumbent upon the international community to safeguard the Palestinian people and hold Israel accountable for its aggressions, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) said on Monday.
;OIC member nation representatives assembled, amid an emergency session, where they vociferously condemned Israel’s violation of holy Islamic sites, including its closure of the sacrosanct Al-Aqsa Mosque, read a communique issued at the end of the meeting.
The statement noted that Israel has drastically altered the status quo to deprive Palestinians of their inalienable access to places of worship, while it underscored that Israel holds no legislative authority over Jerusalem.
The statement lionized the Palestinian people for their perseverance in the face of adversity, calling on the international community to intervene and put an end to Israeli atrocities that have inflamed tensions in the Muslim world.
It also went on to deplore any measures taken by Israel to disrupt normalcy in occupied Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
