Kuwaiti Cannot Sponsor Visa For Expat Wife’s Kin From Nations On Banned List

The Ministry of Interior has taken a decision not to allow a Kuwaiti to sponsor the relatives of his wife without the approval of the concerned authorities because the nationality of the wife falls in the category of people not allowed to enter Kuwait, reports Al-Anba daily.

This is stated in Circular No. 2 of 2018 issued by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Nationality and Passports Affairs, Major-General Faisal Al-Nawaf.

The circular states that it has based its decision because the Kuwaiti is married to a citizen of one of the countries, the citizens of which are not allowed to enter Kuwait.

This is irrespective whether the marriage contract was signed in Kuwait or outside Kuwait. However, the decision is subject to the approval of the nationality affairs agent.

In the meantime, the circular also prohibits granting the entry visas to a wife’s family of any nationality, if the husband works for a military institution without the approval of the Undersecretary of Major-General Al-Nawaf.
