Kuwaiti Cabinet Holds Extraordinary Meeting

The Cabinet held special meeting at Seef Palace on Monday, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

After the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh stated the following:
The cabinet assigned the Ministry of Information to circulate pictures of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in the headquarters of the Kuwaiti ministries, government institutions and diplomatic missions abroad, after the end of the official mourning period at the end of Saturday 7/11/2020.

Amid a briefing on the country’s COVID-19 pandemic situation, Health Minister Sheikh Dr. Basel Al-Sabah reiterated the need to maintain the “utmost caution” and to curb the spread of the disease, Deputy Prime Minister, Interior Minister and State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh said after the talks.

Furthermore, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Mustafa Redha, the Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Affairs and Dr. Buthaina Al-Mudhaf on the Ministry of Health’s briefed the cabinet on the measures taken in face of the COVID-19 pandemic, which included a detailed explanation of the situation.

They also explained the treatment protocols used according to global recommendations in the light of infection and post-infection with the virus.
The cabinet expressed appreciation for the sincere and tremendous efforts made by the Ministry of Health, headed by Sheikh Dr. Basil and all the leaders and workers in the front lines since the beginning of the pandemic.
Regarding the upcoming National Assembly election, the cabinet called on the Kuwait Transparency Society, the Kuwait National Integrity Society and the Kuwaiti Journalists Association to participate in supervising the election process.
