Kuwaiti Arrested For Beating Expat Cashier On Duty In A Cooperative

Assistant Director General of Ministry of Interior Brigadier General Walid Al-Shihab from Ahmadi Governorate ordered arrest of an Kuwaiti citizen. A case No. 2020/91 was registered under assault and the citizen was arrested and brought him to Sabah Al-Ahmad Police Station.

Instructions form Brigadier Al-Shehab came after video was circulated about a cashier from a cooperative was beaten by Kuwaiti citizen. The victim and was asked to register a case where the cooperative administration put pressure, the expat cashier did not react to the hostility but the Kuwaiti citizen kept on deliberately hitting him more. The sympathy for the cashier on social media among Kuwaitis and expats added pressure on Ministry of Interior to act quickly.
