Kuwait Win Five Medals In Arab Shooting Championship

Kuwait on Tuesday won five medals in women and men teams and individuals in the fourth day of the 14th Arab Shooting Championship, which features more than 200 athletes representing 10 Arab countries.

Kuwaiti shooter Turki Al-Shammari won the gold medal in the 50m rifle individual men’s competition, while the Omani Ibrahim Al-Muqbali came second and Hamad Al-Khattari was third.

In the same competition at the teams level, Kuwait – Turki Al-Shammari, Abdullah Al-Harbi, and Khaled Abdulmajed – won the gold medal, while Oman got the silver and Qatar the bronze.

In the (10 meters air pistol teams) competition, Kuwait’s Hamad Al-Namashan, Saad Al-Ajmi and Ali Al-Mutairi won the first place, the gold medal, Oman came second, and Jordan came in third place.

Kuwaiti shooter Hamad Al-Namshan won the bronze medal in the men’s 10m pistol individuals, while Ismail Al-Abri of Oman came first and Kuwait’s Ali Al-Mutairi was second.

In the competition of 10m air rifle, the Kuwaiti team made up of Abdullah Al-Harbi and Mariam Erzouqi ranked second and silver medal while Oman came in first place and the Qatari team in third place.

For his part, the head of the Kuwaiti delegation and the secretary-general of the Kuwaiti and Arab Shooting Federation Obaid Al-Osaimi expressed to KUNA his pride of the results achieved by the Kuwaiti men and women during the tournament.

Al-Osaimi noted that such championships aim to enhance the confidence of our athletes in the game, especially as most of them have great achievements, whether Asian or global.
