Kuwait Teacher Sued Over Fake Academic Degrees

A Kuwaiti teacher is facing legal measures over involvement in fake academic degrees.

The Ministry of Higher Education discovered that the woman had managed to obtain three fake academic degrees from an Arab country.

The accused who works with the Ministry of Education has a fake Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (2005), a Master’s degree in Statistics (2008) and a PhD (2013).

The woman used her fake degrees to get employed, obtain promotions, allowances and financial premiums, according to Alqabas.

Higher Education Ministry Undersecretary Dr Sabeeh Al Makhizam notified the Civil Service Commission to scrap the accreditation of her degrees and cancel her financial privileges.

The Civil Service Committee also sent an official notification to the Ministry of Education to file a lawsuit against the fake teacher.

Dr Al Makhizam said that the Ministry of Higher Education had not accredited the fake degrees.
