Suspicions Over Authenticity Of Certificates From Slovakia
There are suspicions about the authenticity of the civil engineering specialization certificates issued by a university in Slovakia on the strength of which a number of officials have got the jobs in the oil sector, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting reliable sources.
The daily added, it is surprising that the Ministry of Higher Education in spite of being aware of the situation has accredited these certificates in 2011 when there were suspicions hovering around universities in Slovakia.
The sources stressed the students had neither obtained prior approvals to study at the university in Slovakia, nor records show that the students were on leave when they allegedly graduated from the university. To add, insult to injury, the records show the students were in their respective jobs throughout the study period when they were supposed to be at the university desk.
One of the students completed his studies in ‘Applied Education’ in the field of mechanical engineering. He completed the civil engineering study without attending or studying at the university and received the certificate in two years although it takes four years to get a degree in this specialization in addition to the necessity of studying the Slovak language.
The sources said that some received a civil engineering certificate and did not study the language (writing or reading), adding that some of them were promoted through the intervention of some influential people and have climbed the ladder to become senior engineers handling contracts worth millions of dinars.
The sources stressed on the need to address the Ministry of Higher Education to scrutinize the validity of these certificates, especially since suspicions are aplenty. The sources also said there is a need to confirm the presence of these students in Slovakia with the help of the Kuwaiti embassy in Slovakia
