Kuwait, Serbia Eager To Boost Ties, Says Kuwaiti Ambassador

Kuwait Ambassador to Serbia Yousef Abdulsamad stressed the keenness of Kuwait and Belgrade to boost bilateral relations, especially in the fields of economy and tourism.

This came during Abdulsamadآ‘s meeting, Wednesday, with Serbian Minister of Commerce, Tourism and Communications Tatiana Matic in the capital Belgrade.

In a statement to KUNA in Vienna, the Kuwaiti embassy in Belgrade said, the Serbian and Kuwaiti sides affirmed the importance of holding the second round of the meetings of the Joint Committee for Economic and Technical Cooperation next year in Kuwait or via video-conference, to discuss all means of developing trade, investment, cultural and tourism relations.

The statement quoted Ambassador Abdulsamad as saying that the Serbian minister proposed the possibility of establishing joint investment collaboration to develop medical tourism in Serbia, such as in clinics and health resorts, after the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The meeting also touched upon ways to complete the cooperation between the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and Serbia in financing the second phase of the construction project for one of the new main railway stations in the capital, Belgrade, especially after the success of the first phase.
