Today’s Session Cancelled After Kuwait Pm Submits Resignation

The National Assembly will not meet today, Wednesday, after His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah submitted the government's letter of resignation, according to Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim.

In a press conference at the National Assembly on Tuesday, Al-Ghanim said he had been informed that His Highness the Prime Minister and the government had tendered their resignations to His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah a short time ago.

Some of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-constitutional Sabah's rights will be exercised in accordance with the Amiri order, with the support of His Highness the Crown Prince, he added.

The resignation is being considered by the political leadership, and everyone is convinced that they will make the best decision in the best interests of the country, he said.

His Highness the Crown Prince received His Highness the Prime Minister at Bayan Palace earlier today, who presented His Highness with the government's letter of resignation.

After the conclusion of the discussion of the interpellation directed to His Highness by MPs Muhannad Al-Sayer, Khaled Al-Otaibi, and Dr. Hassan Jawhar, Al-Ghanim announced in the last regular session of the National Assembly, held on March 29, that ten MPs had submitted a request not to cooperate with His Highness the Prime Minister.
