Kuwait, Other Arab Countries Urge Turkey To Stop Violations Against Iraq

The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Kuwait confirmed today, Thursday, to support the security and sovereignty of Iraq, calling at the same time Turkey to stop its violations against Iraq.

For his part, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Acting Defense Minister Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Al-Nasser held a phone call with the Iraqi Foreign Minister, Dr. Fuad Hussein, to reaffirm Kuwait's support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iraq.

During the call, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Nasser affirmed that the State of Kuwait stands by Iraq in all the measures it takes to preserve its security and stability, while condemning any external attacks and its rejection of Turkish military interventions in Iraqi lands, based on its principled and steadfast position rejecting any interference affecting the sovereignty of any of the brotherly Arab countries.

He expressed his sincere condolences to the Iraqi military martyrs who died as a result of the attack, wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded and injured in this attack.

For his part, the Iraqi Foreign Minister expressed his deep thanks and appreciation for the principled position of the State of Kuwait, which reflects the nature of the fraternal relations established between the two brotherly countries and their keenness on the obligations of neighborhood and their rejection of any external aggression.

In a statement issued by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Cairo condemned what it called the Turkish aggression against northern Iraq.
