Kuwait Municipality Suspend Transportation Allowance For Around 477 Employees
Kuwait Municipality has decided to suspend transportation allowance for employees of certain positions who use their private vehicles to carry out their tasks, reports Al-Rai daily quoting informed sources.
They explained that the decision will affect 477 employees who occupy assistant engineering positions and used to receive KD 90 as transportation allowance. This decision was taken based on an observation of the State Audit Bureau in its report of the 2018/2019 fiscal year.
Meanwhile, circulars have been issued to the employees who work on shift basis, stating that a penalty of suspension of one–month’s shift allowance will apply if they fail to abide by the specified work timings.
Also, Al-Anba daily reported that the Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality affirmed that Capital Municipality’s Department of Audit and Engineering Follow-up are continuing with its campaigns, which recently resulted in the issuance of ten warnings for violating buildings in Jaber Al-Ahmad Residential Area. Acting Head of the Department for Follow-up of Engineering Violations in Capital Municipality’s Department of Audit and Engineering Follow-up Abdullah Al-Qallaf stressed that the campaigns aim at investigating the complaints received by Kuwait Municipality via its account on social media, and ten warnings were issued for the violating buildings.
He explained that the construction activities in the violating buildings have been suspended based on law No. 33/2016, and the contractors and supervising engineering offices responsible for the violations have been summoned in order to take necessary legal actions. The Public Relations Department called upon all citizens and residents to contact Kuwait Municipality either via the hotline No. 139 or its social media account @ kuwmun in case they have any complaints.
