Kuwait Municipality Fails To Prosecute Man Who Had Been Using A Place Designed For Toilet As A Restaurant
Kuwait Municipality has failed to prosecute an influential man who had been using a place designed for toilet as a restaurant from the day the license for the restaurant was issued in 2010 until the day the violation was detected.
According to a source, an official from the municipality discovered that the toilet did not exist in the real sense but was only included in the design to secure approval of the municipality. He indicated that the location was transformed into a famous restaurant that has been serving large number of customers, based on licenses granted by the Capital Municipality and Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
The source revealed that the license will expire in 2018, but the owner has evacuated the location to avoid scandal.
However, the municipality did not question the official who issued the license without necessary verifications or the owner who used the location illegitimately for those years. The source said he hopes the State Minister for Municipal Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri and Director General of Kuwait Municipality Ahmad Al-Manfouhi will investigate the incident after this revelation in order to ensure safety of consumers.
