Kuwait Municipality Denies Halting Camping Licenses For Non-kuwaitis

07 December 2015 Kuwait

Kuwait Municipality denied social media and media reports about halting camping licenses for non-Kuwaitis and stressed that licenses were still being issued to both Kuwaitis and non-Kuwaitis. “The municipality only followed some strict measures to prevent leasing camps to others. Some non-Kuwaitis had been using several IDs to get licenses to pitch camps and then rent them to others,” official spokesperson Nadia Al-Shereida explained, noting that the new regulations will prevent such leasing, especially since municipality inspectors are always present in various camping areas. “If licensed beneficiaries rent out camps for others or use them in violation of the regulations, the camps will be immediately removed and legal action will be taken against them,” she underlined.
