Kuwait Municipality Affirmed The Need To Tackle Phenomenon Of Construction Violations

Director General of Kuwait Municipality Ahmed Al-Manfouhi affirmed the need to eliminate the phenomenon of construction violations and for the violators to know that they cannot escape the law, reports Al-Qabas daily. He explained that Kuwait Municipality has four steps for gradual enforcement of final court verdicts.

The first step is to block all transactions of the violators. Second step is to enforce the disciplinary penalty stated by the law. This will be followed by cutting electricity and water services before taking the final step of removing the violation forcefully in coordination with the General Department of Sentences Enforcement affiliated to Ministry of Interior.

Al-Manfouhi revealed that Kuwait Municipality won 20 lawsuits related to construction violations in private residential, investment residential and commercial buildings. During a meeting he held with the head and members of the committee that is in charge of dealing with construction violations, Al-Manfouhi stressed the utmost importance of enforcing the law without any exception
