‘kuwait Mobile Id’ App … A Positive Step Towards Digital Transformation
The Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) has succeeded in attracting 1.650 million citizens and residents to use the “Kuwait Mobile ID” app, which is a positive step towards digital transformation to conduct transactions and achieve the goal of shifting to e-government, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to sources from PACI, they consider the success of the program in registering such high number of citizens and residents in the “Kuwait Mobile ID” app to be in line with the implementation of the Cabinet’s decision to oblige government agencies to approve its use when conducting all types of transactions, without the need for the original civil ID. This saved effort and time, and ensured safety in conducting transactions by automatically linking those agencies with PACI.
The general approach and strategy of PACI is to completely dispense with the regular card, and completely rely on the “Kuwait Mobile ID” app in the future. A subscriber to the application can travel to the Gulf countries using the “Kuwait Mobile ID” app, and citizens do not need a passport or original civil ID card for this purpose. The authority called on everyone to benefit from the app. Meanwhile, PACI stated that those who wish to receive civil IDs can visit from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm during the month of Ramadan, and on normal days, the issuance process will continue until 6:00 pm.
