Kuwait Makes History On Guinness World Record
Kuwait-based marketing agency, Richter Creative Office, has positioned Kuwait on the forefront of the Guinness World Record by setting up the world’s largest digital theater production during COVID-19. Titled, “Most tickets sold to an online show”, the record was attempted by a diverse team of Kuwaiti entrepreneurs, theater directors, writers, and actors who managed to set the record for producing the highest selling digital theatrical show worldwide.
“The success of ‘Al System Waqef’ (The System Stopped) in Kuwait and the region stemmed from the hidden talents and capacities of Kuwaiti youth working together to surpass times of crisis. Through this award, Kuwaiti youth were able to set an international record as a result of successful team work combining both an entrepreneurial mindset and artistic approach,” stated Bader Al-Essa Co-founder of Richter Creative Office.
The Kuwaiti digital theater show was produced during COVID-19 by Richter Creative Office aiming to entertain the general public during the Eid holidays while the country was facing a total lockdown. The epidemic condition did not curtail the creative team from securing new sources of income as they have created a new approach to digital marketing.
The collaboration between Kuwaiti youth resulted in selling above 1,400 tickets in one day, a number that exceeded the 1,000 tickets international record to the digital sales of a theater show. In another statement, Ms Nouf Al-Asfour, Co-founder of Richter Creative Office, underlined the importance of utilizing the creativity and hidden talents of Kuwaiti entrepreneurs in order to overcome the economic repercussions of COVID-19 in Kuwait. She also added that local talents have what it takes to support Kuwait’s future initiatives in developing its economic infrastructure during the current situation.
“We, as Kuwaiti youth, have so many ideas, talents, and determination to position Kuwait globally in various fields. And, this award is a proven case that demonstrates the capacities of Kuwaiti youth,” stated Mohammed Al-Hamly, writer and director of the show. The theater show was produced, directed, written, and acted by talented Kuwaitis who have heavily contributed to the success of this initiative, which has resulted in placing Kuwait on a historical Guinness World Record. The satirical theatrical show grabbed the attention of attendees from Kuwait and the GCC with its content and wit.
