Kuwait Lists Key Categories To Be Vaccinated Against Covid-19
The Cabinet has handpicked seniors, patients with chronic diseases, medics, front-liners and providers of basic services as part of the major categories to be vaccinated against Covid-19 once the country takes delivery of a first shipment of vaccines.
This was announced by Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basel Al-Sabah while keeping the cabinet posted on Kuwait’s vaccination blueprint purposed to curtail complications, infections and hospitalizations. During an extraordinary cabinet meeting, the minister, who also doubles as chief of the Covid-19 vaccination committee, said the vaccination campaign would be put into force as soon as the first shipment of vaccination turned up.
Elaborating on Kuwait’s Covid-19 situation and the world’s latest virus developments, the minister cited a recent World Health Organization (WHO) as showing that the world’s number of Covid-19 cases and fatalities have topped 40 million and 1.1 million respectively. He, further, expounded on the mechanisms and protocols used by the State of Kuwait to rein in the spread of the highly contagious illness. In this context, the cabinet called on all citizens and residents to live up to their due responsibilities by staying at home unless necessary, putting on masks, ensuring physical distancing and using hand sanitizers and taking more care of seniors and patients with chronic diseases.
