Kuwait's Interior Ministry reported that 620 suicides have occurred in the last seven years, according to a Kuwaiti newspaper.

According to Al Qabas, 342 suicides occurred in the Indian community over the period of 2015 to November 2021, or 55 percent of all suicides.

According to a breakdown of the cases, Kuwaitis and Bangladeshis accounted for 54 and 53 cases, respectively.

The main causes of suicide attempts, however, were not mentioned.

Kuwaiti media has reported a series of suicide attempts and deaths in recent months.

In Kuwait, which has an estimated 4.6 million people, most of whom are foreigners, 41 suicides and 43 suicide attempts were registered last year.

As a result of an increase in suicide attempts in Kuwait, Kuwaiti sources reported expatriates facing deportation last October.

At the time, Al Qabas quoted a source as saying that the Interior Ministry had given clear instructions to security men on how to handle these cases.

As a result of an increase in suicide attempts on the Sheikh Jaber Causeway, Kuwait has increased security.
