Kuwait Exempt 10,000 Palestinians From Two Residency Transfer Decisions

While the decision to prevent the transfer of family residency entered into force after it was published in the official gazette on Sunday, expatriates in Kuwait are in a state of anticipation for the exceptions from the decision to stop granting residency  from next year to non-university degree holders who are 60 years of age and above, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Informed sources revealed that there are about 10 thousand Palestinians benefiting from the exception in the two decisions prohibiting transfer from the government sector to “private”, and the prohibition of converting joining the family to work.

The sources stated that preventing the transfer of joining the family to work residency includes the wife and daughter, and not only males, with the exception of the categories that have been announced in the decision.

The details are as follows: While the decision to prevent joining a family from transferring to a work residence in accordance with Article 18 entered into force yesterday, with the Public Authority for Manpower announcing it in the Official Gazette in its issue issued yesterday, the residents of the country await exceptions that affect the decision to delay those who exceed 60 He does not hold a university degree until the beginning of next year to renew a work permit for one year only, and then leave the country.

Al-Qabas learned that preventing the transfer of joining the family to residency work includes the wife and daughter, and not only males, with the exception of the categories that have been announced in the decision.

In another context, a group of unions and business owners appealed to His Highness the Prime Minister to work to stop the decision to prevent renewal for those over 60 years old and who do not hold a university degree, given that many of them are business owners and commercial activities, and they share citizens, in addition to being experiences that can be used in Training and supervision of a new generation.

Informed sources reported that there is talk of a set of controls and exceptions that will aim at over 60 years old and who does not hold a university degree. They are expected to be announced before the decision comes into effect, including that members of this category who have families inside the country will be granted transfer permission to join Family with the condition not to work.

With regard to the decisions to exempt from the prohibition of transferring from the government sector to the private sector or from joining the family to work, the number of beneficiaries reached about 10 thousand Palestinians residing in the country who hold Palestinian nationality and the corresponding passports for refugees that include Egypt, Syria, Yemen, and Iraq, And Lebanon, and the Palestinian Authority’s passport.

Sources stated that the workforce and the Ministry of Interior deal with this group residing in the country according to a special mechanism, where the file of the person concerned with the transfer is studied through labor departments, and if the exception applies to them, the transfer process takes place.
