Kuwait Embassy In Oman: “kuwaitis Should Transfer Land And Real Estate To Omani Citizens”

The Embassy of Kuwait in the Sultanate of Oman has called upon Kuwaiti citizens who own land or real estate in a number of locations in the Sultanate to dispose these properties by transferring ownership of these lands and real estate by legal means to an Omani citizen not later than 19 November.

The Kuwaiti citizens can extend the deadline for a period of one year only after approval by the Omani Ministry of Housing through the electronic form available on the ministry’s website: (www.housing.gov.om).

The embassy stated in a press statement that this comes in implementation of the Royal Decree banning non-Omani citizens’ to own land.
Non-Omanis are prohibited from owning land and real estate in following areas:
1- Musandam Governorate – Al Buraimi – Al Dhahirah – Al Wusta – Dhofar (except for Salalah).
2- The state of Liwa – Shinas .
3- Jebel Akhdar- Jabal Shams – and any other mountains of strategic importance determined by the competent authorities.
4- Juzur al-Ḥallāniyyāt .
5- The archaeological and old lanes specified by the Ministry of Heritage and Culture.
6- Agricultural lands throughout the Sultanate.
7 – The sites near the palaces and the security and military authorities that are determined by the competent authorities.
