Kuwait Donates 2.397 Million Dollors To United Nations Programmes

Kuwait donated $2.397 million for aid programmes of the United Nations (UN) agencies.

Kuwait Permanent Representative to the UN said that the contribution was delivered to several UN programmes including the UN Central Emergency Response Fund, (CERF), UN Development Program (UNDP), UN Human Settlements Program, UN Children's Fund (UNICEF), UN Environment Program (UNEP) and UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women.

Kuwaiti aid will also fund the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), the UN Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture, the UN housing fund, and the UN Fund for Drug Abuse Control, it added.

The Kuwaiti permanent mission delivered $900,000 to the bureau of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), $100,000 for the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and $50,000 to the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF).
