23 June 2021 Kuwait

Since 2018 Kuwait has discovered nine oil wells and 8 large oil reservoirs and that two wells were already transferred to the Asset Management sector in March 2021, reports Al-Anba daily quoting highranking oil sources. The same sources said during fiscal 2019/2020, 6 new wells were discovered — Al-Manaqeesh in the Yabbeth field, the Heth reservoir in the Al-Rawdatain field, the Lower Al-Marat in the Kahlulah field, Al-Marat in Al-Qasha’aniya, Al-Marat in Homa and the Najma Sargelo well in the Kabd field.

The sources pointed out when any new oil reservoir is discovered, it goes through a series of stages until it moves from the exploration stage to the production stage, which begins with the stage of determining the location of potential oil through geological studies, and then moving to the production stage, where it is handed over to the development of fields sector, and then begins production down to the maximum rates required.
