Kuwait Deports 10,800 Expatriates

25 June 2022 Expats

A Kuwaiti media report revealed that in the first six months of the year, more than 10,800 expat workers were deported, an average of 63 a day.

A senior security source reported that the majority of deportees lived in bachelors' neighborhoods such as Jleeb Al Shuyoukh, Mahboula, Shuwaikh Industrial Area, Bneid Al Gar, Wafra Farms, and Abdali.

There is a security cordon around Jleeb Al Shuyoukh and the situation is constantly monitored, as per sources. There is no evidence that violating workers are fleeing from the area or moving to other areas to avoid the campaign.

Under Secretary of the ministry Lieutenant General Anwar Al Barjas and First Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al Nawaf have been vigilant on a daily basis in following up on violations of the residency law and security campaigns, noting there is no problem for anyone in any of these areas, as long as they have a valid residency and their status is legal.
