Kuwait Denies Reported Imf Statement That Budget Has No Deficit

Kuwait Finance Ministry Friday categorically denied media reports which quoted a statement allegedly released by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) saying Kuwait budget has no deficit.

The alleged IMF statement claiming there was no deficit in Kuwait budget "is fabricated," the ministry said in its official Twitter account. It said an IMF mission that visited Kuwait last November commended the financial and economic reforms, it said.

The ministry said it was publishing the final statement of the state budget, which was audited by the State Audit Bureau and approved by the National Assembly, which showed the real budget.
