Kuwait Customs Seize More Than 2 Million Tobacco Bags At Shuwaikh Port

Shuwaikh port customs officers were able to seize 2 million and 220,000 bags of tobacco, which were present in three containers left over for more than 90 days at port.

Three 40-foot containers were left behind at the Shuwaikh port for more than 90 days. These containers were coming from a Gulf country. The inspection and storage control men – Northern Ports Customs Administration suspected illegal substance and on Sunday morning, 11th July inspected the containers carefully.


The first container contained 108 thousand bags of brand (Better), and 3,000 bags of brand (Misk), and the second container contained 109,000 bags of brand (Better), and the third container contained 2 million bags of brand (Best).

A total of 2 million and 220,000 bags of tobacco prohibited from being imported were seized by the Customs officers with the instructions of the Ministries of Commerce.

The General Administration of Customs warns anyone who is tempted to smuggle narcotics and prohibited goods in all their forms and types into the country, stressing that he will expose himself to legal accountability.
