Kuwait Court Acquitted A Student

31 May 2016 Crime News

The Court of Appeals, headed by Judge Salah Al-Houti, acquitted a university student of joining the banned terrorist organization Jabhat Al-Nusrah. The higher court cancelled the ruling of a lower court that sentenced the student to 10 years in jail in absentia, allowed him to post bail of KD 500 and instructed him to maintain good behavior. Attorney Abdulmuhsen Al-Qattan, lawyer for the accused, argued in court that the case is not in line with the Criminal Law and it is not under the jurisdiction of the court, while pointing out that the accused did not admit joining the organization. Earlier, the Public Prosecution charged the student with committing an aggressive action against a country (Syria) by joining Jabhat Al-Nusra which is affiliated to al-Qaeda.
