The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has reaffirmed its commitment to close external speakers and microphones in mosques during prayers and use only the internal microphones, reports Al-Rai daily quoting a reliable source.

Asked about calls to open the microphones in the last 10 days of Ramadan, the source explained that the ministry has a clear legal opinion on closing microphones during the night prayers. He said this fatwa is based on a legal opinion, so all mosques are obliged to close microphones during prayers, except on Fridays.
