Cbk Revealed That The Total Expenses Of Kuwaitis, Expats Up By 4% In First Three Months
The latest statistics released by the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) revealed that the total expenditures of citizens and expatriates increased by four percent in the first three months of the current year – KD 6 billion – compared to the same period in 2018, reports Al-Rai daily.
The statistics showed that expenditures through point of sale machines (payment for services and commodities) increased by KD 209 million in the first quarter or eight percent – about KD 2.88 billion, compared to KD 2.67 billion in 2018.
Expenditures through point of sale machines in the country increased to KD 2.63 billion, compared to KD 2.44 billion last year; while purchases through point of sale machines outside the country reached KD 250.5 million. Transactions through automated teller machines (cash withdrawal) reached KD 3.05 billion – KD 2.97 billion in the country and KD 80.7 million outside the country.
Meanwhile, the government is planning to expand the use of tools and implementation of procedures for rationalizing governmental expenditure, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources.
They explained that the procedures include reducing the number of landlines that are not required by the ministries and government bodies. Implementation of this procedures in all levels of some governmental entities will save millions of dinars annually from the state budget.
Another procedure that will have positive impact in reducing the governmental expenses is the quick transfer of governmental offices from rental buildings to the buildings belonging to the government.
