Kuwait Based Indian Lady And 11-year Old Son Drowned To Death In India
In a tragic incident, a Kuwait-based Indian lady and her 11-year-old son drowned in a river in Mangalore, her hometown, while she was in India.
The incident happened on Saturday morning. According to sources, 35-year old Rosaria and her 11-year-old Shawn drowned in the river at Chungigudde near Kundapura in Mangalore, India.
Rosaria was working for Akbar Travels, Kuwait. Earlier she was working for Jet Airways Kuwait Office.
Rosaria left Kuwait on vacation last year December. She was on her way back to Kuwait via Dubai in January this year. However, as Kuwait closed Airport, she got stranded in India. She was preparing to return to Kuwait on this month 15th.
According to Indian Police, on September 11 afternoon, Rosaria and her son Shawn were walking along the riverside. Accidentally Shawn slipped and fell into the river and drowned. Rosaria, without thinking twice, jumped into the water to rescue her son. But, unfortunately, as Rosaria did not know to swim, she too drowned.
Her husband Noel is working in India as a journalist.
Akbar Travels Kuwait Regional Manager Shaikh Abdulla expressed his deep sorrow over the sad and sudden demise of his staff Rosaria. "I spoke to her a few days back, and she was expected to reach Kuwait next week to join duty," Sheikh Abdulla said. "We are all shattered with this news," he added.
